Shareide's Cancellation Policy, Explained

Plans change - a ride gets cancelled by a rider, or by a driver. Here's how Shareide handles it on both sides.

Shareide's Cancellation Policy, Explained

Cancellations are a normal part of any ride-hailing system - what matters is whether the policy is fair to both sides. Shareide's approach draws a clear line between a quick change of plans and a cancellation that wastes a driver's time.

Cancelling shortly after booking

A cancellation made shortly after a ride is confirmed - before a driver has committed meaningful time or travelled far - typically avoids a cancellation fee, since little has actually been lost.

Cancelling after a driver is already en route

Once a driver has accepted and started heading to pickup, a late cancellation can carry a fee, reflecting the time and fuel already spent getting to you.

Driver cancellations

Drivers can also cancel, and repeated or unjustified driver cancellations count against their standing - see the driver ratings guide for how that feeds into ongoing platform access.

Bids parked awaiting payment

An accepted bid sits briefly awaiting rider payment before it's finalised; if that window lapses or the rider backs out, the ride reopens rather than staying locked to one rider indefinitely.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a grace period before a cancellation fee applies?

Yes - cancelling shortly after booking, before a driver has travelled far, generally avoids a fee.

What if my driver never shows up?

Report it from the app - a no-show is treated differently from a rider-initiated cancellation and doesn't carry a rider-side fee.
