Lahore's working population moved outward — Johar Town, Wapda Town, Bahria and DHA — while a great deal of the work stayed in Gulberg, on the Mall and around the old city. The result is a set of long, predictable, same-direction flows twice a day. The Orange Line Metro runs one diagonal, Ali Town to Dera Gujran. It is genuinely useful if you live and work on it, and irrelevant if you do not.
