How to Rate Your Driver After a Ride

Ten seconds after every ride, Shareide asks you to rate your driver. Here's how to do it, and why it actually matters.

How to Rate Your Driver After a Ride

Every completed ride on Shareide ends with a quick prompt: rate your driver. It takes a few seconds, but it is one of the few things riders do that genuinely shapes the platform — driver ratings feed directly into who gets matched with future rides and, over time, who stays active on the platform. Here is how to do it properly, and why it is worth the ten seconds it takes.

Why rating matters more than it seems

Shareide runs on CNIC-verified drivers and a bidding system where riders and drivers agree on a fare directly — there is no faceless dispatch deciding who gets which ride. Ratings are part of what keeps that system trustworthy on both sides. A consistent pattern of low ratings flags a driver for the platform to look into; a consistent pattern of high ratings helps good drivers get matched more easily. Skipping the rating, or rating carelessly, quietly removes one of the few feedback signals the whole system depends on.

How to rate your driver after a ride

  1. Finish your ride as normal. Once the driver marks the trip complete, the rating screen should appear automatically.
  2. Choose a star rating from 1 to 5, based on the actual ride you just had — punctuality, driving, communication, and how the vehicle was kept.
  3. Add a comment if something stood out, good or bad. A short note like "arrived early, very polite" or "took a longer route than needed" gives useful context beyond a number.
  4. Submit your rating. If you close the app before rating, most rides can still be rated shortly afterward from your ride history.

If something about the ride felt unsafe rather than simply below average, that is a separate report — rate the ride honestly, but also use support or the app's safety reporting for anything that needs an actual review, not just a lower score.

What makes a fair rating

Rate the ride you actually had, not the ride you wish you had. Traffic, weather, and road closures are not the driver's fault and should not automatically drag a rating down. What is fair to weigh: whether the driver was on time, drove safely, communicated clearly about pickup or any delay, and kept the car in reasonable condition. A 5-star ride does not need to be flawless — it needs to be what you would expect from a good, safe, on-time trip.

Frequently asked questions

Can I change a rating after I submit it?

Once submitted, ratings are generally locked in to keep the system reliable. If you made a genuine mistake, reach out to support and explain what happened.

Does the driver see my exact rating and comment?

Drivers typically see their overall average rating rather than which specific rider gave which score, so you can rate honestly without worrying about it being traced back to you individually.

What happens if I do not rate my driver at all?

Nothing happens to you as a rider — rating is optional. But skipping it means one less data point feeding into a system that depends on honest, regular feedback from riders like you.
