How to Download Your Ride Receipt
Need proof of a ride for an expense claim or just want a record of what you paid? Here's exactly where to find and download your Shareide ride receipt.
Whether you're claiming back office travel, splitting a fare with a colleague, or simply keeping a record of your monthly transport spend, having an actual receipt matters. Shareide generates one for every completed ride, and getting a copy takes less than a minute once you know where to look.
Finding your receipt
Every completed trip lives in your ride history, and each one has its own receipt attached.
- Open your Trips or History tab. This is usually accessible from the Home screen or your Profile tab, and lists every ride you've taken in order.
- Tap the specific ride. Selecting a completed trip opens its details — pickup and drop points, fare breakdown, driver name, and date and time.
- Look for a receipt or invoice option. From the trip details screen, there's typically a button to view or download the receipt, often as a PDF or shareable image.
- Share or save it. Once downloaded, you can save it to your phone, email it to yourself, or share it directly through WhatsApp if that's easier for submitting to an office finance team.
What's on the receipt
A Shareide receipt breaks down the fare rather than just showing a single total — base fare, any distance or time component, and the final amount paid. Because Shareide runs on a per-seat carpooling model, the receipt reflects what you personally paid for your seat, not the cost of the whole vehicle, which matters if you're comparing costs against a traditional cab receipt.
Why keeping receipts matters
Beyond expense claims, a saved receipt is useful if you ever need to raise a dispute about a fare or confirm details of a past ride with support. It's also a simple way to track your own commuting costs over a month, especially if you're deciding whether a monthly subscription would work out cheaper than booking ride by ride. Freelancers and consultants who bill clients for travel time often find this especially useful, since a proper itemised receipt looks far more credible on an invoice than a rider simply noting down a cash fare from memory.
If you booked through someone else's account
Occasionally a ride gets booked on a family member's or colleague's account rather than your own — a parent booking for a student, for example. In that case, the receipt lives in the account that made the booking, not the one who physically took the ride. If you need a copy for your own records, ask whoever booked it to download and forward it to you rather than expecting it to show up in your own trip history.
Frequently asked questions
Can I get a receipt for a ride I paid for in cash?
Yes. Receipts are generated for both cash and digital payments, since the receipt records the ride and fare details, not just the payment method.
How far back can I download old receipts?
Your full ride history stays accessible in the app, so you can go back and download receipts for past trips, not just your most recent one.
What if I can't find the receipt for a specific ride?
Double-check you're looking at a completed ride and not one that's still in progress or was cancelled, since receipts are only generated for finished trips. If it's genuinely missing, contact support with the ride date and approximate time.
